# System requirements

What you need to run OpnEarth.

## Desktop app

 | Computer | Requirement  

 | Mac | macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel 

 | Windows | Windows 10 or later, on x64 or Arm 

 | Linux | Planned, not available yet   

There is no edition-based size cap for local desktop files. Available memory limits what can open.

If the map draws slowly or the window stays blank, turn off Hardware acceleration in Settings > About and restart OpnEarth.

## In a web browser

Pro and Enterprise also run in a web browser, with nothing to install. Shared maps open in a browser for the people you send them to.

## Internet connection

Local files open and work offline. A connection is needed to:
  
- sign in and check your edition,
 
- share maps and work together on them,
 
- load online basemaps, icons and address search,
 
- download updates.

## Account

Lite works without an account. Paid plans need you to sign in once on each computer.
